Vacuum molding of plastic materials for all needs

Carpiplast is based in Carpi, in the province of Modena, and has been processing plastics since 1969. Over the years, the company has established itself in the field of thermoforming, setting itself apart for the attention we devote to customer needs and the quality of our products.

Thermoforming is a hot molding technique that is applied to sheets of various materials including ABS, shockproof polystyrene, methacrylate, polycarbonate (a blend of polystyrene and polypropylene).

The advantages of thermoforming compared to other plastic molding techniques are the low equipment cost, the option of making changes even during construction and rapid set-up times.

With this process, it is possible to produce orders of just a few units as well as thousands of pieces.

The production process begins with making the molds following the drawing or a sample provided by the customer. Vacuum molding ensures that the plastic sheet softens and adheres perfectly to the mold once it reaches the ideal temperature, thanks to the vacuum, thereby assuming its shape. After this stage, the plate is cooled and it is removed from the machine  after stiffening and taking the desired shape,. The component is then finished with CNC robotic cutting, following programming by our qualified staff using data provided by the customer or created by our model makers.

With the twin sheet technique, 2 sheets are thermoformed and welded at the same time, this allows us to produce items with particular characteristics. During  thermoforming of the 2 sheets, a space is created inside them where polyurethane is subsequently injected, making the piece rigid, robust and well-insulated. This technique is used primarily in the refrigeration industry for the production of sides and doors of industrial refrigerators but it can be applied in all fields that would make use of these processes.

Computer controlled thermoforming machines

Our range of computer-controlled automatic thermoforming presses allows the molding of sheets of various thicknesses and sizes (up to a maximum of 1500x2500 mm), according to request. This type of equipment also allows to carry out scrupulous control of the entire production process, guaranteeing very high quality results.

Our fleet of thermoforming machinery also includes a twin sheet machine - this allows 2 sheets to be thermoformed simultaneously before polyurethane is subsequently injected.

This technology is suitable for the production of objects that require particular characteristics such as temperature insulation, strength and rigidity.

Carpiplast has state-of-the-art production and logistics equipment which is why it is able to guarantee full compliance with the agreed deadlines and punctual fulfilment of orders.

Thanks to our extremely flexible structure, we are able to meet every production requirement of our customers, always guaranteeing professionalism and precision.
